This week the justices of the Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments on three cases.
The high court will hear Harrington v. Purdue Pharma on Monday regarding whether the Bankruptcy Code, as part of Chapter 11 reorganization authorizes a court to approve a release that extinguishes nondebtor claims without the claimants’ consent.
In Moore v. United States, the justices will hear arguments Tuesday regarding the taxation of unrealized sums as income when the earnings are retained and reinvested.
The justices will consider Muldrow v. City of St. Louis on Wednesday about whether or not Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is limited in prohibiting employer discrimination only to the extent that it causes materially significant disadvantages for employees.
