Mike Gallagher
U.S. Representative for Wisconsin
Michael John Gallagher was born in March 1984 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He served seven years in the United States Marine Corps as an intelligence officer. His service included deployment in the Iraq War.
He earned an undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He earned an M.S. from the National Intelligence University, and received a second M.S., along with an M.A. and Ph.D. in security studies from Georgetown University.
He was elected to the United States House of Representatives, assuming office in January 2017.
Gallagher is married to Anne and they have two children. He is a Catholic.

The bipartisan House Committee on the Chinese Communist Party has begun scrutiny into four venture capital groups’ investments in China. Sequoia Capital recently announced they are cutting ties with the CCP. Chairman of the Committee, Representative Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, sent a letter to Sequoia Capital seeking more information.
He stated in the letter, “Splitting off its China business… is a step in the right direction. However… Sequoia Capital China’s significant US dollar investments in People’s Republic of China (PRC) entities have included certain investments that contributed to the CCP’s human rights abuses, the PRC’s military modernization, and its overall efforts to undermine U.S. technological leadership.”
The letter requests information about investments Sequoia made in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductor companies in the People’s Republic of China “to better understand Sequoia Capital’s announcement that it would split from Sequoia Capital China by March 2024.”
Congressman Gallagher further said in the letter, “Additional questions remain regarding how the split may affect flows of US capital and flows of technological know-how from US companies to foreign venture funds.“
