Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. – Psalm 121:4
Where Are You Looking?
Has the Chicken Little syndrome crept into your life in recent days? Have you felt like hiding under a blanket, crying, “The sky is falling!“ Or perhaps you have been looking to political and military leaders to provide the solutions to the problems, as well as the funding necessary to provide them. Or are you being underpinned by God’s word, by the power and privilege of prayer, and by God’s promises? Enemies have attacked Israel from time immemorial. That nation, and you, can learn once again from the prayer of Jehoshaphat: “Oh Lord our God… We are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (2 Chronicles 20:12). Then, do as the psalmist did in Psalm 121:1-2: “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From when does my help come? My help comes from the Lord.” Maintain your confidence in the One who holds the earth and sky in place today. He is your eternal Keeper, Shelter, Helper, and Protector!
