Preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 1:13
President Harry Truman declared that the war between the United States and Germany was officially over on this day in 1951. While the two nations had ceased battling one another almost 6 years before, the treaty was not finalized and signed until disagreements were settled surrounding which territories would be Soviet-led versus democratically governed. As you pray for U.S. governing officials today, ask the Lord to work out His will despite the divides in ideology and opinions on governance. Pray for God’s guidance to lead you to any areas in your life that are not being governed by the Holy Spirit. As today’s verse says, prepare yourself for action, to be Christ’s hands and feet in this broken world. And thank the Savior for His grace and mercy toward you.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For U.S. officials as they discuss and enter into agreements with other nations.
- For the president and his foreign policy advisors to seek God’s guidance in their proposals.
