Majority Leader Schumer hopes actions motivate the House.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York said on Sunday that the Senate is working to pass a military spending package for the government of Israel, providing them with the weapons they requested to wage war against Hamas. Israel, which has used much of its munitions after the Muslim extremist group Hamas launched a terror attack on Israeli residents on October 7, has requested a number of additional weapons for its arsenal.
Senator Schumer expressed optimism when asked if the House of Representatives would be able to take similar action in the midst of its inner turmoil. “What about the House? We’re not waiting for the House. We believe if the Senate acts in a strong bipartisan way, it may indeed improve the chances that the House, even with its current dysfunction, will act,” Senator Schumer said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the party leaders in the House and Senate.
- That representatives in the House are able to select a speaker to head the lower chamber.
- For the purposes of God to be accomplished in Israel and the Middle East.
