Sanctions include individuals in Hong Kong, Turkey, UAE, and Iran.
The Treasury Department imposed sanctions this week on those accused of supplying drones to Russia for use in Ukraine. There were five entities and two individuals who were said to be part of the network helping procure servomotors and other sensitive parts for Iran’s unmanned aerial vehicle program.
Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said, “Iranian-made UAVs continue to be a key tool for Russia in its attacks in Ukraine, including those that terrorize Ukrainian children and attack its critical infrastructure.”
Iran denies providing Russia with drones for them to use in Ukraine.
