He says, during the UN General Assembly, that the independence of any nation is not secure if Ukraine is allowed to be “carved up.“
President Joe Biden spoke before the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, calling for the nations present to continue mutually pushing against Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has stretched into its 19th month, and many nations, including legislators in the U.S. Congress, are beginning to question the resources being sent to aid Ukraine’s defense.
President Biden argued that Russia is counting on weariness to ensure its victory. He stated, “If we abandon the core principles of the United States to appease an aggressor, can any member state in this body feel confident that they are protected?”
The president added, “If we allow Ukraine to be carved up, is the independence of any nation secure?“ He continued, “I’d respectfully suggest the answer is no.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the president and his administration as they continue to promote aid for Ukraine.
- For members of Congress as they weigh the needs of the U.S. against the amount of assistance being sent to defend Ukraine.
