Chairwoman Cantwell to convene a full hearing on September 20.
The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will meet this week to consider President Joe Biden’s nominations to two positions on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Committee chair Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington made the announcement and said that they will convene for a full confirmation hearing on September 20.
The FTC is made up of five commissioners, and no more than three commissioners can be from the same political party at one time. With three members currently on the commission of the president’s party, President Biden is required to nominate two of the opposing party to fill the remaining two slots. The president has selected Virginia Solicitor General Andrew Ferguson and Utah Solicitor General Melissa Holyoak for the positions.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chair Cantwell and committee members as they hold a confirmation hearing for the minority party nominees to the FTC.
- For discernment for Chair Lina Khan and the other two members of the FTC as they conduct business.
