India’s prime minister invites Mauritius as the presidents of Russia and China will not attend.
President Joe Biden is meeting with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi ahead of the 2023 G20 Leader’s Summit being held there on September 9 and 10. The theme for the summit is “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
Prime Minister Modi, who is hosting the summit, has invited Mauritius to the summit. Mauritius is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Xi Jinping of China will not be attending.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that one of President Biden’s top priorities at the summit will be support for “fundamentally reshaping [the World Bank] and scaling up the multilateral development banks.”
Following the G20 Summit, President Biden is scheduled to go to Vietnam. Vice President Harris is representing the administration at the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and prime minister to seek God’s direction as they discuss mutual concerns.
- For wisdom for the president as he prepares to participate in the summit.
- For the G20 leaders to look to the Lord for guidance regarding the issues they will take up.
