Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding. – Proverbs 2:2
Today’s verse is an excerpt from a passage extolling the benefits of wisdom. Have there been times in your life when you were not “attentive to wisdom” or did not “incline your heart” to understanding? Many people remember the foolishness they engaged in as children or adolescents. Throughout the book of Proverbs, practical direction is given that seeks to protect you from the consequences of thoughtless actions or poor judgment. The apostle James encourages you to ask the Lord for wisdom, saying that He will give it to you without reproach (James 1:5). How many times in your life have you sought the Lord’s wisdom? Have you spent time reflecting on His faithfulness in guiding you? As you intercede on behalf of federal, state, and local public officials today, take some time to thank and praise God for all the times He has led you and given you wisdom.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For understanding for those who chair House and Senate committees as they hold hearings and investigations.
- For wisdom for the president and administration officials as they craft programs and initiatives.
