Defense Commissary Agency trying to keep shopping affordable for military families.
The new director and CEO of the Defense Commissary Agency, John Hall, is making consumer savings a priority. He is also focused on quickly restocking shelves, improving the quality of produce, and improving the online ordering system.
Under the “Taking Care of Our People” initiative by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, commissaries received a funding boost that allowed them to lower prices by three to five percent on more than 40,000 products. The defense secretary also eliminated the requirement that commissaries turn a profit.
Marine Corps Sergeant Major Michael Saucedo, the commissary agency’s senior enlisted advisor, is also working to raise awareness among young service members that commissaries are accessible to all serving personnel and not only retirees or officers.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Austin to seek the Lord’s wisdom as he heads the Defense Department.
- For discernment for Director Hall as he improves the commissary shopping experience and savings for military families.
