The U.S. Department of Energy is updating energy efficiency standards for commercial water heaters, pool pump motors, and residential water boilers. The department estimates that the implementation of these changes would save American consumers over $1 billion per year on utility costs.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said her department will “continue to work with our industry partners to improve consumers’ options and increase the reliability and performance of household appliances and critical commercial and industrial products.”
The Energy Department recently lauched a rebate program for transformers and critical industry equipment. The department is also providing a fifth round of funding to two states and three tribal nations for the modernization of power grids.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his energy advisors as they determine the direction to take the nation.
- For wisdom for Secretary Granholm as she oversees the Energy Department.
- For U.S. energy officials to seek God’s direction regarding power grid resilience and climate interventions.
