U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is traveling to Tongo, New Zealand, and Australia this week.

On Wednesday, Secretary Blinken met with Tongan officials in Nukuʻalofa to discuss the shared values and vision of a connected, prosperous, peaceful, and resilient Pacific region. On Thursday, he and Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Lee Satterfield attended the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Wellington to cheer on the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Today, Secretary Blinken is attending the Australia – U.S. Ministerial Consultations (AUSMIN) in Brisbane. State Department Press Secretary Matthew Miller said the secretary’s discussions “will include coordinating on our vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific, deepening security cooperation, and advancing the third pillar of our relationship:  climate and clean energy.“ His trip concludes tomorrow.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s guidance as he represents the U.S. at the ministerial meetings.
  • For the president and secretary of state to be led by the Lord in foreign policy decisions.
  • For Assistant Secretary of State Satterfield as she participates in diplomatic meetings on the periphery of the Women’s World Cup soccer matches.
