Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for our Military
The Battle Force Ship Assessment and Requirement, an annual report mandated by Congress, reveals the U.S. Navy is more than 80 ships short of the latest estimate of what the sea military thinks it needs. The report says, “Strategic competition with China is both a current and long-term challenge. Focusing our force design on 2045 will inform the most consequential decisions and investments the Navy needs to make in the critical decade ahead.”
Pray for U.S. Armed Forces leaders and suppliers as they assess military readiness in all branches.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
A Defense Department inspector general report reveals that Western-supplied weapons sent to Ukraine are being intercepted by Russians, criminal gangs, and other bad actors. The report stated the department’s “ability to monitor equipment provided to Ukraine was hampered because of the limited number of U.S. personnel allowed in the country and movement restrictions placed on those personnel.”
Pray for U.S. legislators and Defense Department officials as they evaluate the status of the aid sent to Ukrainian.
Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a speech delivered in Hanoi that Vietnam could become a key partner in expanding green energy resources and establishing a more resilient supply chain. She stated that Vietnam has become critical in the global semiconductor supply chain and big investments are being made by U.S. companies there.
Pray for U.S. officials who are working to expand resources in the semiconductor supply chain and support greater technology manufacturing would return to the U.S.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
Hospitals across America are bracing for shortages in major medications after a tornado ripped through the Pfizer factory in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Pray for individuals who are reliant upon Pfizer medications and that the factory will be able to return to production soon.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
Israel’s Knesset voted in favor of limiting its high court’s power to block some decisions of the government. The nation has experienced six months of protests over the issue, while the U.S. State Department had pressed Israel to slow its action on the legislation. The majority party of the Knesset voted unanimously on the legislation while opposition members boycotted the vote. Limitations on the court’s “reasonableness standard” was established by the vote.
Pray for Israeli leaders as the protests have created a very “shaky” Israel.
Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY
Housing starts fell 8 percent from May to June after showing signs of improving earlier in the year. Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, and the prospect of more of them, are partly responsible.
Pray for Chairman Powell and the members of the Federal Reserve as they consider additional rate hikes to address inflation.
Pray for Goodness in America
The Providence, Rhode Island, Public School District has come to an agreement with Child Evangelism Fellowship that will allow the Christian Good News Clubs to meet on school properties. This move is part of a religious discrimination lawsuit settlement.
Give thanks that the children in the Rhode Island school district will be able to participate in Good News Clubs and pray that many will be brought to Christ.
Pray for Needs Across the States
More than a dozen Idaho legislators are calling on the state’s library commission and all “local and school libraries” to terminate their membership with the American Library Association. The legislators cite the ALA’s Marxist programming and promotion of sexually explicit material as the reason for the request.
The State Department of Health in New York has awarded $1 million in public funds over a two-year period to provide free health care for sex workers. Opponents of the program say that, in so doing, Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration is encouraging the decriminalization of prostitution.
Pray for state legislators, governors, and department heads as confusion and conflict occur over programs, laws, and the use of taxpayer money.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“For years, people would teach on the Ezekiel 38 war and say, ‘It’s gonna be Russia, Iran, and Turkey as the main players and a few other countries.’ We see it happening. They literally have agreements right now. Russia and Iran, for example, have military agreements because of the war in Ukraine, where they’re officially… tying themselves together and they’ve gotten closer. The stage is clearly being set [for an attack on Israel.“ – Todd Hampson, author and prophecy expert, July 18, 2023
