Happy Independence Day!
On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress ratified the Declaration of Independence which released the Thirteen American Colonies from British rule, creating the United States of America.
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are holding a celebration on the South Lawn of the White House today. Professional music artists will provide entertainment as well as the United States Marine Band, U.S. Army Band, U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, U.S. Navy Band, and U.S. Air Force Band and the president and first lady host military and veteran families at the event.
