Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for our Military
Public health activists have brought allegations against the U.S. Navy for covering up dangerous levels of radioactive waste at the 866-acre Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco. The shipyard was formerly home to a secret laboratory where strontium-90, a radioactive isotope, was used in a variety of applications, leaving elevated contamination in the shipyard.
Pray for America’s military leaders concerning the handling of toxic or potentially unhealthy materials that could contaminate the land they occupy.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
The Department of Defense acknowledged it had incurred an accounting error on the value of military aid the U.S. has sent to Ukraine by $6.2 billion over the past two years, double the amount it first estimated.
Pray for U.S. governing officials as they have continued to send American taxpayer dollars to Ukraine in its defense against Russia.
Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS
At a fundraising event in California, President Joe Biden referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “dictator.” China responded, saying President Biden’s statements “go totally against the facts and seriously violate the diplomatic protocol, and severely infringe on China’s political dignity. … It is a blatant political provocation.”
Pray for the president, administration officials, and other U.S. politicians as they discuss and make observations or express opinions about both allied and adversarial nations.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is recommending that adults ages 19 to 64 and beyond receive routine mental health screening for anxiety disorder and depression. “The good news is that screening for depression and anxiety can identify these conditions early. When this screening is linked to quality mental health care, patients benefit,” the task force’s vice chair said.
Pray for U.S. health officials as they highlight mental health issues being experienced by many across America.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
A new report revealed that the U.S. military property left behind in Afghanistan in August 2021, including Blackhawk helicopters, is now showing up in the hands of terrorists attacking Israeli citizens. Some small arms have been observed in the hands of Palestinian groups operating in the Gaza Strip, the report said.
Pray for Israel’s leadership as Palestinian attacks have been made against Israeli civilians and the Israeli Defense Forces’ responded.
Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY
According to recent estimates from Freddie Mac, the American housing market is about 3.8 million units short, whether for rent or for sale. This has kept housing prices high even as the Fed’s rate hikes keep increasing mortgage rates. The lack of affordable housing has contributed to the number of homeless across the country.
Pray for federal, state, and local leaders as they seek to address homelessness and the shortage of affordable housing.
Pray for Goodness in America
The CEO of Public Square announced he will offer his employees a “baby bonus” of $5,000 to help them sustain their families. This move counters corporations that incentivize their employees to get abortions. “Strong families make a strong nation,” he said.
Give thanks for corporate officers that support life with direct actions.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Three school districts in New Jersey have been sued by the state after they changed their policies on notification to parents if their students come out as transgender or change their preferred pronouns. State guidelines require schools “ensure” that students are addressed by their preferred pronouns or dress according to their gender identity, and that parental notification or consent is not required.
The statewide one-year suspension of the 1 percent grocery tax in Illinois that was introduced to fight inflation will expire July 1. Governor J.B. Pritzker has included making the suspension permanent in his 2024 budget.
Pray for state officials, school board members, and parents of students as policies restrict or block information about what is happening in school districts.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“Frankly, we live in a time that’s unprecedented in all of human history. Never has the world seen this type of attack on children and on the rights of parents to protect them, as God has intended us to do — to teach them, to train them, to nurture them. The time has come for parents to rise up and reclaim their rightful role. In other words, “There is no retreat from here. You must fight where you stand.” – Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council, June 2023
