Administration partnering with the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced this week that a new public working group is being formed to manage the risks of artificial intelligence (AI). The National Institute of Standards and Technology released a framework for AI risk management last year, and this public working group will work within that framework to address the rapidly increasing influx of AI-generated code, text, images, videos, and music.
“President Biden has been clear that we must work to harness the enormous potential while managing the risks posed by AI to our economy, national security, and society,” Secretary Raimondo said. “Building on the framework, this new Public Working Group will help provide essential guidance for those organizations that are developing, deploying, and using generative AI, and who have a responsibility to ensure its trustworthiness.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Raimondo to be prudent in partnering with the NIST on AI risk management.
- For Commerce Department officials as they evaluate the potential of AI technology against its risks.
- For the president’s administration as they lay the groundwork for artificial intelligence use and management.
