Today, the Senate Armed Services Committee will continue its work on the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024.
The committee, chaired by Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island, has held its negotiations, discussions, and markups in closed sessions. An amendment proposed by Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa that would have reversed the abortion policy of the Defense Department was reportedly voted down along party lines.
The House Armed Services Committee held an open markup meeting of the NDAA earlier this week.
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs is focusing on Fiscal Year 2024 legislation today. Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida is chairing this subcommittee.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for members of both the House and Senate Armed Services Committees as they prepare the defense authorization bill.
- For Speaker McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Schumer as they oversee their respective chambers.
- That President Biden will seek God’s guidance on the direction he and his administration are taking the nation.
