For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well. – Hebrews 7:12
In June 1935, Franklin Delano Roosevelt made plans to build a gold vault on the grounds of Fort Knox, Kentucky. The purpose of this was to store gold away from coastal regions to prevent potential attacks from foreign entities. In 1941, the Constitution of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, and Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address were among the historical documents temporarily housed in the vault. Jesus spoke of the safekeeping for God’s children: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand“ (John 10:28-29). Just as gold and historical documents are protected by high-security vaults, believers in Christ are protected in the hand of the Father. Pray today for God’s protection over this nation and its leaders.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For the Secret Service as they safeguard the current president and all former living presidents.
- For the justices of the Supreme Court as they endeavor to uphold the separation of powers that has given the U.S. stability.
