Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with the president of China, Xi Jinping on Monday, where, he said, the two talks an array of “bilateral and global issues that affect people at home and around the world.” They were unable to reach any form of agreement on their most contentious issues, but the CCP’s official news media said, “The two sides have agreed to follow through on the common understandings President Biden and [Xi] have reached in Bali.”

Pray for U.S. officials as they endeavor to reduce the tensions that exist between China and the United States.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Representative Mark Green, who serves as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he believes China is sending military personnel across the southern border into the U.S. “We have no idea who these people are and it’s very likely, using Russia’s template of sending military personnel into Ukraine, China is doing the same in the United States.”

Pray for members of Congress as they voice concerns about the activities China is engaged in across the U.S. that could impact American national security.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

At a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Chairman Michael McCaul of Texas said, “China’s malign influence is growing exponentially, and its encroachment into the Western Hemisphere poses a clear and present danger. Now is the time to act and address this with the seriousness it deserves.” He called for a whole-of-government approach to counter China’s coercive actions.

Pray for chairs and members of the congressional committees who are working to protect America’s interests at home and abroad.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The order forced the pipeline to be shut down and gave the company 21 days to develop new routing to be constructed over the next three years that avoids reservation land.

Pray for federal judges as they rule in cases that have a broad impact over broad segments of the population.
