Debris found near Titanic wreckage.
The U.S. Coast Guard officially announced that the five passengers aboard the missing “Titan” submersible tour vehicle were lost in a “catastrophic implosion.” Although a debris field was found near the Titanic by a remotely operated vehicle, there has been no recovery of the bodies of the five men aboard the submersible.
Officials had earlier predicted that the submersible would run out of oxygen by Thursday. The Coast Guard reported that international efforts to locate and retrieve the Titan were vast but did not meet with success.
The operators of the tour, OceanGate Expeditions, stated, “These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans. Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Rear Admiral John Mauger as he serves as commander of the First Coast Guard District.
- For Coast Guard Commandant Linda Fagan to seek God’s direction as she heads her service branch.
- For the families and loved ones of the explorers who were lost in the submersible.
