All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. – 2 Timothy 3:16
Today’s verse is set in the context of instructing and correcting. The whole of God’s Word is beneficial and useful for teaching. Every part of Scripture has the potential to show you truth, expose your sin, correct your mistakes, and train you to live a life that glorifies God. One important part of the scripture for today is the word “breathe.” Scripture was “breathed out by God.” In Hebrew, Yahweh in its original form is spelled YHWH without vowels. When one says “YHWH,” it sounds like breathing in “yah” and breathing out “weh.” As you breathe His name in and out, ponder how He breathed life into you at birth. Pray today for those in public office to seek the Lord in their work, recognize Him as their Creator, and breathe His name.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For members of Congress to seek God’s guidance in their investigations and as they vote.
- That the president and members of his administration would have their hearts drawn to the Lord and His ways.
