Issue 599 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The White House announced that the Department of Justice will work “hand-in-hand” with the LGBTQ community to address “threats” tied to “hate groups and domestic terrorists,” to “protect LGBTQ+ communities from attacks on their rights and safety.” They highlighted legislation that would ban biological males from female sports and schoolroom discussions of sexual ideological topics.

Pray for the president and administration officials as they take positions on issues that are contrary to the Word of God.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Senators Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee are requesting that the CEO of TikTok answer reports that American data has been stored in and is accessible to China. “We are disturbed by TikTok’s pattern of misleading or inaccurate responses regarding serious matters that relate to users’ safety and national security,” they wrote.

Pray for all of the congressional members attempting to maintain America’s national security and expressing concerns about the activities of China.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Natural Resource Committee sent a letter to the Secretary of the Interior seeking records related to her professional relationship with relatives who work on behalf of federally-recognized Native American tribes. They raised the question of whether it represents a potential conflict of interest in high-stakes decisions for Secretary Deb Haaland.

Pray for the members of the Legislative committees exercising oversight of the Executive Branch.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals heard oral arguments in a case where four female athletes allege they “were consistently deprived of honors and opportunities to compete at state levels” because biological males who identify as female were competing in girls’ athletic events. The athletes have sued Connecticut for Title IX violations.

Pray for wisdom for judges who are being called upon to deal with the latest in cultural challenges.
