May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. – 2 Peter 1:2
Events in the world today may be luring you toward agitation or worry. In Peter’s day, there were plenty of circumstances and situations that tempted believers to be anxious. As today’s verse states, Peter bids the followers of Christ grace and peace. These are not merely emotions or ethereal platitudes. The apostle provides the path that leads to these blissful characteristics: through the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ. This knowledge is a type of intricate intimacy that is built experientially, over time. Getting to know the Lord through prayer, worship, praise, and thanksgiving as you rely on Him, increasingly cultivates this sense and position of grace and peace. Just as shared memories strengthen a friendship or marriage, take time today to enhance your relationship with God by recalling His goodness in your life. This will nurture His grace and peace in you.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For believers in Christ who serve in public office to rely on Him and function in His grace and peace today.
- For the president and administration officials to have their hearts drawn to the Savior and discover His love and redemption.
