Sends GOOD Meat a “no-questions” conclusion.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved GOOD Meat’s lab-grown chicken for U.S. marketplaces last week, sending GOOD Meat a “no-questions” letter after reviewing their product.
“We have no questions at this time regarding GOOD Meat’s conclusion that foods comprised of or containing cultured chicken cell material [are] as safe as comparable foods produced by other methods,” the agency said in a March 20 letter to the company.
Lab-grown chicken is produced by feeding a small sample of animal cells nutrients so that they grow into full meat cuts. GOOD Meat submitted its product to the FDA for review in November 2022 and is the second lab-grown meat product to be approved for human consumption in the United States.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Becerra as he heads the Department of Health and Human Services.
- For Commissioner Califf as he oversees the Food and Drug Administration.
- For U.S. officials to be discerning regarding food production and lab-originated foods.
