Today, President Joe Biden is going to deliver remarks in Monterey Park, California, on his administration’s efforts to reduce gun violence.
At a Lunar New Year festival in January of this year, a gunman opened fire in a Monterey Park dance studio, killing 10 and injuring 10 others. At the time, the president directed Homeland Security Advisor Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall to head federal efforts in support of the mass shooting investigation. Soon after, the authorities identified the shooter as an elderly local man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
President Biden will promote greater gun control measures as well as an assault rifle ban.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to seek God’s guidance regarding limits on the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens.
- For justices and judges in the Judicial Branch of the government as they hear cases related to gun control.
- For the families and friends of those who are mourning the loss of loved ones in the mass shooting and for complete healing for those who were wounded.
