The Departments of Justice and Commerce recently announced the launch of the Disruptive Technology Strike Force, an interagency effort to prevent technological theft from the United States. The U.S. is filled with advanced technologies, such as supercomputing, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence, that it purposefully keeps from its adversaries, such as China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea. This strike force is intended to stop people from accessing these technologies in order to sell or give it to U.S. adversaries.
“Using real-time intelligence and 21st-century data analytics, the Disruptive Technology Strike Force will bring together the Justice and Commerce Departments’ expertise to strike back against adversaries trying to siphon off our most advanced technology, and to attack tomorrow’s national security threats today,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.
