Justice Department not pursuing the death penalty.
A man who killed 23 people in a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, recently pleaded guilty to a 90-count criminal indictment filed by the Department of Justice, receiving 90 consecutive life sentences for his actions.
In August 2019, Patrick Wood Crusius published a racist manifesto about Hispanic immigration minutes before driving to a Walmart in El Paso to target its primarily Hispanic patrons with a WASR-10 rifle. This mass shooting is the worst hate crime against Hispanics committed in the United States to date.
After the Justice Department confirmed they would not pursue the death penalty, Crusius pleaded guilty to 55 hate crime acts and 45 firearms violations.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the judge to be discerning as he hears and rules in the mass shooting case.
- For DOJ officials as they prosecute the shooter for this hate crime.
- For comfort for those in the Hispanic community who lost loved ones in the attack.
- For those in the U.S. who are promoting division and hatred to come to know the Lord Jesus as Savior.
