5G development projects will compete for $7 million in cash and prizes.
The Department of Defense recently launched its 2023 5G Challenge, opening applications for its 5G development competition. Sponsored mutually by the Departments of Defense and Commerce, cash and prizes totaling $7 million are on the line as applicants compete with projects that can advance the interoperability of military bases and units through 5G technology.
“The 5G Challenge will help establish the deployment readiness of Open RAN systems — an important factor in future decisions about updating communications infrastructure on Department of Defense facilities,” the Defense Department stated. “The military services will provide plans for such modernization this year and prepare to undertake them over the next three years at hundreds of DoD facilities.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Pentagon officials as they review and determine the recipients of the awards for 5G development.
- For Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to be led by God as he heads the U.S. military.
