Applications will be received until March 27.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that $7.5 million is available for urban agriculture support and development. The Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production will be receiving applications for two grants from now until March 27, one focused on planning urban farms and one focused on founding them.
For those looking to plan urban farms, a proposal needs to be submitted to target “areas of food access, education, business, and start-up costs” that are most pressing to the core of each farm’s mission. For existing urban farms, projects may be submitted that support their current infrastructure, promote collaboration with partner organizations, and implement educational endeavors.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Secretary Vilsack as he heads the Agriculture Department.
- FOR USDA officials as they review applications for urban agricultural projects.
- For leaders in U.S. cities as they seek to develop food-producing programs.
