Senate Intelligence Committee requests documents of President Biden, President Trump, and Vice President Pence.
The Senate Intelligence Committee has requested access to documents marked as classified that have been taken from the homes of former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden, and former Vice President Mike Pence
The committee stated that it would need to review the records for itself in an effort to determine if there was a breach of national security. “Our job is not to figure out if somebody mishandled those. Our job is to make sure there’s not an intelligence compromise,” Senator Warner said.
The Intelligence Committee met last week with Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and Senator Marco Rubio said that sharing details with the top-ranking Intelligence Committee members in Congress would not interfere with investigations underway by the Justice Department.
“These are probably materials we already have access to,” he said. “We just don’t know which ones they are.” He added, “If, in fact, those documents were very sensitive materials, were sensitive, and they pose a counterintelligence or national security threat, then the intelligence agencies are tasked with the job of coming up with ways to mitigate that.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Senate Intelligence Committee as they investigate the risk to national security posed by the potential improper handling of classified documents.
- For God to direct the director of national intelligence as she meets with members of Congress.
