Classified documents from Joe Biden’s days as vice president have been found in several locations.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland named Robert Hur, formerly the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, as independent counsel to investigate the alleged mishandling of classified documents by President Joe Biden.
Attorney General Garland confirmed that documents with classification markings were discovered both in the vacated Penn Biden Center office in Washington, D.C., and stored next to the president’s personal car in his garage in Wilmington, Delaware.
The attorney general stated, “Only the facts and the law” will guide the investigation, adding that he expected the probe to be “even-handed” and dealt with as an “urgent matter.” Attorney General Garland said, “It was in the public interest to appoint a special counsel.”
