Accompanying President Joe Biden on his trip to Mexico, First Lady Jill Biden spoke in Mexico City, Mexico, on Monday at a Women’s Empowerment Event. She met with Mexican women in art, education, and business, then met with children from the National Football League’s Tochito flag football league.
The first lady said, “For many women around the world, simply raising their voice is a struggle. … When women are left behind or pushed out, it hurts us all. But when women get the opportunities that they deserve? There’s no limit to what we can do.“
She added, “When we earn money, we invest it in our families, and we create more economic growth.”
