Willie Phillips has track record of public service.
This week, President Joe Biden named Willie Phillips as acting chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The first person of color to fill this role, Phillips has over 20 years in the field of public service. He was first appointed to the FERC through Congressional approval in December 2021, filling out the panel to its full five members.
With this appointment to acting chairman, the FERC panel is back to four members, which are equally split by party. Voting stalemates are expected until a fifth member is reappointed to the position. Government analysts do not expect the panel to take on many rulemaking issues in the near future.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Chair Willie Phillips to seek the Lord’s leading as he oversees the commission.
- For wisdom for members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as they debate rules.
- For the president and his energy advisors as they determine foreign and domestic policies.
