I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. – Revelation 3:11
Have you ever had to leave the theater in the middle of a good movie? It’s frustrating! Humans are wired for story and most people will make a point to get the full narrative. The beautiful Christmas history of God’s Son coming to Earth is rich in meaning and worth celebrating, but it is only part of the story!
Revelation’s author, the apostle John, relieves you of the frustration of wondering how it ends. He wrote the letter revealing God’s plan for the Earth and humanity. While there is much in his book to interpret with care, there is one simple message that cannot be missed, “‘Surely, I am coming soon.‘ Amen, Come Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20).
As the world celebrates the birth of Jesus, followers of the resurrected Lord equally celebrate the promise of His return. The book of Revelation is not meant to confuse you but to encourage you to guard your faith, embrace God’s Word, and draw closer to Him. How the story ends is revealed as much for comfort to Christ’s followers living in a sin-darkened world as it is a warning for those resisting or rejecting God, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it” (Revelation 1:3).
Give God thanks on this day, recognizing the full story of God’s gift, a Son, born, crucified, resurrected, and coming again for His people. Read God’s Word in its entirety and pray many will accept Him while they have the opportunity.

4 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.
4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.
