The system is being implemented after a year of delays.
The U.S. Army launched the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army this week. The platform went through multiple delays, having its rollout pushed back first from December 2023, then from September of this year. Regular users of the unified human resources platform will be able to access it in January 2023.
Spokesperson Colonel Rebecca Eggers stated that the soft launch will “provide HR professionals additional time to properly prepare before Soldiers are added to the system and ensure connectivity has stabilized.” She added that the program has faced systems integration challenges and “as more users navigate the system, there may be items that need to be addressed.”
