The White House announced Wednesday morning that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on his way to the United States. He will be meeting with President Joe Biden and then he will address a joint session of Congress at the Capitol.
Members of the House and Senate are in the process of nailing down government funding legislation. Current additional funding for Ukraine included in the bill comes to at least $45 billion for military and humanitarian aid.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “The visit will underscore the United States’ steadfast commitment to supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes, including through the provision of economic, humanitarian, and military assistance.“
