Hospital organizations warn that the lack of space and staff is creating a crisis.
President Joe Biden received a letter from a group of medical organizations regarding the “breaking point” that hospital emergency departments are reaching. They detailed the staffing shortages and lack of beds for waiting patients, and lack of space is causing admitted patients to be kept in emergency departments. This has also caused a delay in care.
“Health care professionals experiencing burnout have a much higher tendency to retire early or stop practicing all together,” the letter stated. “This increases the loss of skilled health care professionals in the workforce and adds more strain to those still practicing, which continues the cycle of burnout within the profession.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his administration as they consider solutions to the shortage of medical personnel and space.
- For Secretary Xavier Becerra to seek God’s guidance as he heads the Department of Health and Human Services.
- For health and strength for the U.S. medical professionals who survived the pandemic and are still practicing and serving.
