Today, President Joe Biden is traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico. While in the state, he will meet with state and local officials and discuss ways that the administration is working to improve the lives of New Mexico residents. In addition to discussing job creation and infrastructure overhaul, the president will provide an update on the administration’s progress to provide student debt relief and its impact on New Mexico and the nation.
At the end of last month, the president said of the administration’s plan to provide student debt relief, “We’re following through on a promise I gave to millions of Americans with student loans: just a little more breathing room.”
He added that he hopes to pave the way for Americans to affordably enter fields that require education but may not provide sufficient income to pay off a large student debt after the fact. “This program forgives student loans to encourage those students to go into public service — public school teachers, local police officers, workers at local charities, members of the military and the National Guard,” he said. “My administration is also taking additional steps to make education a ticket to the middle class that folks can actually afford.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to seek wisdom from God as he meets with New Mexico officials and residents.
- For the president to seek God’s will as he looks to provide solutions to ease the burden of debt on American students.
- For God to direct the president and administration officials as they work to meet the needs of the nation.
