President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, today. They will return to the White House this evening. At this time, the president has no public events on his schedule.
The United Nations Security Council unanimously voted on Friday to impose sanctions against those who are “undermining stability in Haiti.” Days before, the United States and Canada sent armored vehicles and military aircraft to Haiti in response to the Haitian government’s request for assistance to address increasing violence.
“The United States remains committed to supporting the people of Haiti,“ stated National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. “USAID staff is on the ground now working alongside Haitian health workers and NGOs to respond to the cholera outbreak and deliver care to those who need it. We will also continue to engage the international community on additional actions we can take at the United Nations.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his administration as they provide support to the Haitian government.
- For USAID personnel as they work to assist Haitian officials in caring for the people of Haiti.
- For wisdom for U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield as she collaborates with foreign ministers.
