For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets. – Amos 3:7
Keeping secrets is expensive. The United States government was reported to spend 51 billion dollars on its ‘black budget’ last year. That is the budget used for top-secret activities. Every nation spends big money and effort on keeping classified information under wraps. How interesting that the Bible is full of references to secrets.
You have probably heard an unbeliever say, “I would gladly believe in God if He would just come out of hiding and show Himself to me.” Many people claim they would adopt faith if given a burning bush experience like Moses or a blinding light encounter like Paul. Certainly, God COULD intimidate every soul into bowing before His majesty. Instead, across history, God removes the veil and reveals Himself to the humble heart that is seeking Him: “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known” (Jeremiah 33:3).
Does God keep secrets? Yes, but He is longing to share His knowledge with you. “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright” (Proverbs 2:6-7). God is “hiding in plain sight” for those who genuinely seek Him. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 29:13-14).
Ask God to protect those in undercover and dangerous service for this nation. Pray that America’s best-kept secret would be a praying population!

6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
