Secretary Fudge celebrates the milestone of American Rescue Plan funding.
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Marcia Fudge traveled through Georgia last week, where she announced a milestone for the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program. This program helps those directly transitioning from homelessness pay for key items that they are normally not able to afford, such as security deposits, utility deposits, and large furniture items.
“At HUD we are pleased that over 35,000 households have been averted from homelessness and have successfully leased their own rental housing thanks to our Emergency Housing Voucher Program,” said Secretary Fudge. This makes up 50% of the total EHVs allocated to the department in the first year of the program’s existence. The funding was allocated through the American Rescue Plan.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Fudge as she oversees the awarding of Emergency Housing Vouchers.
- For HUD officials as they work to prevent homelessness and assist those experiencing displacement.
