Position to coordinate migration efforts with governments and organizations.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken nominated Amy Pope to be the next Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The IOM is organized under the United Nations and leads intergovernmental efforts to coordinate safe and humane migration in over 100 countries. Pope currently serves as the IOM’s Deputy Director General for Management and Reform.
“Ms. Pope has proven her exceptional capacity to achieve results that serve migrants, to lead and support IOM’s workforce, and to collaborate closely with member states,” Secretary Blinken stated. “She envisions an IOM that strengthens member state engagement and invests in human capital. The United States strongly supports Amy Pope’s candidacy.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Ms. Pope as she prepares for confirmation hearings.
- For Secretary Blinken as he appoints individuals to positions in the State Department.
- For God’s purposes to be accomplished as the immigration policies of the administration are implemented.
