Grants have been given for legal assistance to stop the deportation of illegal immigrants.
President Biden’s administration, through the Justice Department, has awarded $1.3 million in federal contracts to an advocacy group, the Vera Institute of Justice, which helps illegal immigrants challenge being deported from the United States.
According to government records, the Acacia Center for Justice—a Washington-based nonprofit created through a collaboration between the Vera Institute of Justice and the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition—was awarded a total of six contracts from the Department of Justice to provide legal services starting from September 1.
The Acacia Center for Justice states that its mission is to “expand on Vera’s work over the past twenty years in providing legal support and representation to immigrants facing deportation through the development, coordination and management of national networks of legal services providers serving immigrants across the country.”
The Vera Institute has also received millions in funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Biden and his administration as they fund progressive immigration policies.
- For the attorney general and Justice Department personnel as they implement the administration’s immigration programs.
