In the News…
Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota said that plans to track purchases of guns and ammunition by credit card companies amount to an unacceptable infringement on second amendment rights.
Credit card giants Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are taking steps to help track firearm sales. A panel of the International Organization for Standardization voted to approve the creation of a “merchant category code” (MCC) for gun retailers, and credit card companies are adopting the change. The code would show where an individual spends money but not what items were purchased.
