This will be the first in-person meeting to deepen economic ties in the region.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai will be co-hosting an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Ministerial in Los Angeles, California, in September. The Commerce Department stated that virtual meetings with 13 Indo-Pacific partners have already been held this year to “develop a high-standard and inclusive economic framework that will fuel economic activity and investment, promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth, and benefit workers and consumers across the region.”
At the ministerial, the Commerce Department spokesperson stated, “Secretary Raimondo and Ambassador Tai will convene meetings with ministers to continue active discussions in each of the four pillars: trade; supply chains; clean energy, decarbonization, and infrastructure; and tax and anti-corruption.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Raimondo as she and staff in the Commerce Department prepare for the ministerial.
- For Trade Representative Tai to be led by God in her duties and as she crafts discussion points.
- For U.S. officials as they pursue economic goals in the Info-Pacific.
