Today, President Joe Biden is staying at his residence in Wilmington, Delaware. Due to First Lady Jill Biden testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday, she is remaining in South Carolina until she recovers and tests negative for the virus. While originally scheduled to travel to Orlando today in support of her Joining Forces initiative for military families, the first lady has canceled all public events.
President Biden is also limiting his contact with staff and administration officials. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that this is “consistent with CDC guidance because he is a close contact of the first lady, he will mask for 10 days when indoors and in close proximity to others. We will also increase the president’s testing cadence and report those results.” Shortly after the announcement, she added, “The president tested negative for COVID this morning on an antigen test.”
