HHS reports Fly Formula flights to total 47 by July 22.
The first of five emergency infant formula deliveries arrived from Singapore to Chicago O’Hare International Airport this past week as part of the newest wave of Operation Fly Formula Flights. The program to address America’s infant formula shortage delivered formula to international airports every day last week, where they will be transported to grocery stores through expedited emergency shipping.
As of this week, Operation Fly Formula has distributed 47 shipments of formula from American allies. The operation is a joint project between the Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, and the General Services Administration to quickly ensure that only formulas that comply with U.S. health and safety standards are the ones that reach American store shelves.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For leaders in the health department as they coordinate flights to import formula.
- For officials in the GSA as they collaborate with HHS officials on addressing the formula shortage.
- For the parents and pediatricians seeking alternatives to the absent baby formula.
