President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Public events and travel plans for the president are currently suspended and he will interact with members of his administration remotely.
Physician to the President, Dr. Kevin O’Conner stated, “President Biden is currently experiencing mild symptoms“ and that the president is being treated with PAXLOVID since he meets the FDA criteria for emergency use.
White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre said, “Consistent with White House protocol for positive COVID cases, which goes above and beyond CDC guidance, he will continue to work in isolation until he tests negative. Once he tests negative, he will return to in-person work.“
