Infinite Possibilities

In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. – Proverbs 14:26

Loving the Lord and serving Him is not something that is only for your benefit. It is also for the good of your children and those in your circle of influence. And don’t forget the ripple effect. One act of kindness could possibly be felt around the world, especially in this age of social media when news travels fast.

Twenty minutes of faithful prayer can accomplish more than a single person can accomplish in their lifetime. Why? Because all things are possible with God. His power is unlimited. And the works that your Heavenly Father does are always good and for the good of the people. Even when His discipline is warranted it is always for the good as obstacles to the relationship with Him are removed. Humans can slave away at their work (and your work is important to the Lord) but it will never be as perfect as God’s actions and intentions. Prayer is key to the all-powerful, holy God moving on your behalf.

A dynamic prayer life begins with giving the Lord the respect He deserves. The first thing Jesus taught in “the Lord’s Prayer” was to honor the Heavenly Father. He said, “Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name” (Matthew 6:9). Other words for hallowed are holy, sacred, and revered. Today, worship the Lord, and bring Him your cares, your church’s needs, and your concerns for the country. Be confident that He hears and answers your prayers, giving future generations a refuge.

Today’s Verse: Proverbs 14:26

In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence,
and his children will have a refuge.

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.

14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

16 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
